Christopher RamBarran is an internationally acclaimed Canadian singer, songwriter, and producer. A citizen of the world, he was born in Guyana and is of East Indian-Bengali, Ukrainian Gypsy, and Royal Polish descent.
Much like his ancestry, Christopher’s musical style is eclectic and richly diverse. One song is performed in Swahili and incorporates African world percussion; others feature Native American flute, Latin influences, acoustic and electric guitars, and gorgeous orchestrations. Another tells the story of his grandparents’ great love in Poland and their perilous journey to Canada. Christopher’s songs are plucked straight from the pages of his most intimate diaries.
Christopher has performed around the world, including in Australia, Costa Rica, Kenya, Peru, Nepal, India, the Philippines, the United States, and Canada.
Christopher co-produced his ethnically diverse world album, SONG OF THE ANGELS, with Michael Vail Blum, the multi-platinum awarded producer and engineer whose credits include Michael Jackson, Madonna, Kenny Loggins, Peter Cetera, Julian Lennon, Pink Floyd, and The Who. The album was recorded at Titan Studios in Los Angeles, California.
He wrote, produced, engineered, and mixed PRINCE AND THE GYPSY at his Calgary studio, SONGS DU SOLEIL RECORDS. Christopher and his sister Natasha performed the vocals, with Christopher also playing acoustic guitar alongside some of the finest world musicians performing today. Their classically trained voices create an incomparable melodic mosaic.
Christopher graduated with honours from Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California, and studied with renowned opera and classical voice instructor Blaine Chapmen in Canada. In addition to his collection of original world-music compositions, Christopher has performed Italian and English opera, classical, heavy metal, folk, spirituals, and most genres of contemporary music. He has also sung on numerous album projects.
In his earlier years, Christopher recorded all lead and background vocals for DESTINY CALLING, a European-esque heavy metal project that received rave reviews worldwide.
Christopher has appeared on numerous international television and radio programs, received extensive newspaper coverage, and performed at the Canadian Embassy in Manila, Philippines.
He will be re-releasing his albums SONG OF THE ANGELS and WILDFYRE, in addition to launching his newest album, ETCHED IN ETERNITY, later this year.
From the majestic Rocky Mountains of Canada, Christopher continues to uplift and inspire fans across the globe. Fans have described him as a “modern-day troubadour.” Christopher stands out not only for his unique, soulful songs, but also for his astounding vocal range and intensely passionate performances.
Christopher also believes strongly in giving back. He taught music to special-needs children for the Third Academy at its Calgary, Lethbridge, and Red Deer campuses in Alberta, Canada, as well as abroad.
Additionally, as Co-Director of the Road Show in Los Angeles, California, he shared his music weekly at convalescent hospitals, children’s hospitals, and prisons.
Christopher is on a mission to share his music with the world. He endeavors to unify people through the power of music—inspiration, transformation, and joy through music, the universal language of love.
